International seminar on recent advances in Homoeopathy held at Kolkata on 19to 21st of feb2010.It was well organised under the Dynamic leadership of Director, Dr Eswar Das ji. Quality of papers were very highs standard, they were scrutinised by expert team. Post presentation discussions were there, very few participants took part in discussion, seminar was conducted in three halls, simultaneously which was not familiar to most of the audience.

Depressive disorders & Homeopathic Treatment at Hyderabad
A Depressive disorder is an illness that involves the body, mood, and thoughts. It affects the way a person eats and sleeps, the way one feels about oneself, and the way one thinks about things. 17 million people; approximately 4% of adolescents get seriously depressed (NIMH); annually 12% of women ; 7% of men; lifetime risk of an episode for women 20%. 3-4 million men USA. . Women are twice more often affected with depression than men.
Mood disorders tend to run in families. Common cause’s depression is normal emotional reactions to grief and stress. Depression results from a complex, partly understood biochemical changes in the brain, which are influenced and supported by multiple causes inclusive of genetic trait, circumstantial factors, hormonal factors, socio-personal reasons.
Common symptoms are depressed mood , loss of interest and enjoyment, increased fatigability, diminished activity, reduced concentration and attention , reduced self-esteem self-confidence ,idea of guilt and unworthiness [even in a mild type of episode] ,bleak and pessimistic view of the future ,ideas or acts of self-harm or suicide ,disturbed sleep and diminished appetite
Homoeopathy has a good scope, efficacy and superiority in treating such disorders. It offers an excellent treatment for all stages of Depression, especially in the early stages.
Recently CCRH, Department of AYUSH, Ministry of health and Family welfare, Govt of India sanctioned an extra mural research project on Depressive Disorders
